In the context of the intensification of open-pit mining and the growth of the quarry machinery fleet, the issues of efficient use and maintenance of oversized and ultra-large tires are becoming particularly relevant. This article is devoted to the analysis of the causes of tire wear of quarry dump trucks and the consideration of the hot vulcanization method as the main method of their restoration. It was established that the greatest risk of damage falls on the sides of the tread and tire, and the nature of the defects is diverse and often combined. The hot vulcanization method, in strict accordance with technological regulations, ensures the restoration of the mechanical properties of tires and a significant increase in their service life. The main stages of restoration are considered, including preparation, cleaning, application of restoration materials, heat treatment, and cosmetic restoration. It was noted that the process is labor-intensive and requires further optimization, including the automation and improvement of technological solutions. In addition, in order to increase the wear resistance of tires and wheels, it is proposed to consider the possibility of implementing design changes in them themselves. The obtained results can be useful in the development of maintenance regulations and the improvement of quarry equipment repair systems.
