This article explores the issue of ethnic identity formation in toponyms within Uzbek and English languages. Toponyms, as linguistic units reflecting national culture and history, reveal similarities and differences between ethnic groups. The study analyzes the ethnic roots, semantic, and structural features of toponyms in both languages. Additionally, the article highlights the cultural and historical significance of place names and their role in maintaining ethnic identity. The findings demonstrate the interrelation between language and culture and emphasize how national consciousness is expressed through language.
