This article provides information on the study of hydrogeological conditions and the specific characteristics of construction of engineering structures in complex climatic conditions. Today, saline soils with an unstable structure are widespread in the territory of our country and are used as natural and artificial foundations of buildings and structures. As a result of the development of desert areas, the construction of industrial and civil facilities began on the saline soils. At that time, due to insufficient regulatory documents and guidelines, changes in the physical and mechanical properties of saline soil as a result of long-term wetting of the foundation and leaching of salts were not taken into account in research and design.
