The article refers to the increased attention in the republic, during the years of independence, to sports, the adoption of a number of laws and by-laws on the development of national sports. The article notes the great contribution of women in Uzbekistan to the development of sports in the country. The achievements of athletes with disabilities at the Paralympic Games are analyzed.
