The architectural compositions of the cultural and household objects of the Surkhandarya oasis reflect the building traditions of the late Middle Ages. During the construction of permanent housing, the natural and geographical features of the region were taken into account. People built their homes mainly on the banks of rivers and streams. The masters of the Surkhan oasis knew different methods for building a house. This article provides information on the methods used by the craftsmen of the Surkhan oasis in the construction of housing, as well as on local types of houses.
