In this article, changes in the traditional identity of the Turkmens of the Khorezm oasis in the Soviet era are studied on the example of household life, customs and wedding ceremonies. At the same time, changes in the way of life of the Turkmen population during the Khiva Khanate and the Soviet era, the struggle for independence, the consequences of the policy of collectivization, the consequences of national-territorial demarcation, the way of life of the population during World War II.
